The January Tournaments

FSS logoLarry Turville shared via email that the schedule is getting firmed up for the January Florida Super Senior Grand Prix series… with some changes!

He notes, “We lost Colonial, but this will give you a little more time to get ready for the first event at World Tennis Center” (which will be chaired by Bill Simonton).

Bad News/ Good News

For whatever reason that the USTA has in mind, they have replaced Larry as the Director of the Circuit. The new directors are Mark Taylor and Mike Baldwin.

larrytLarry writes, “The good news is I’m getting married on Jan. 28th to Kelli Monahan, who most of you have met, and the wedding will be on center court at Sterling Oaks. You all are invited. Also, hope you don’t mind but Wedding Dinner will also be the player party, so don’t miss it! Free Beer and Wine while it lasts. I wanted to make sure someone would come to the wedding. Look forward to seeing you in FL in 2015.”

Congrats to Larry on the Good News; but a bummer for all of us on the Bad News.

  1. I feel that USTA is very short-sighted by replacing Larry. AS a player and Director he always had the pulse of the tournament directors and the players . He always balanced the two and made most tournaments a pleasure. It was Larry’s insights that made the University Park tournament the success that it was and showed players and directors how to run a great event.

Bill – couldn’t agree with you more! george
