The Men’s Finals

With the Olympics and US Open done with, we can now all go back to watching the other “game” of Obama vs. McCain dominate TV. But what did you think about the men’s final?

I don’t know about your area, but in the woods of New Hampshire, the local CBS affiliate thought it would be more important to show Dr. Phil counsel someone about picking their nose in public than show the men’s final! They then broadcasted local news and switched to tennis in the LAST GAME OF THE MATCH.

All we got to see was Federer extremely happy at breaking his Grand Slam tie with Emmo (which I think he started to doubt would ever happen).

At least I won a lunch bet (Fed vs. Nadal) with Bill Bowden!

  1. Here in Naples it was to be broadcast on NBC and 15 minutes before the scheduled start time at 5:00 they had a scroll on the TV saying the match was available only if you subscribed to HD. I can’t imagine what their TV viewing numbers were? Apparently tennis is now available to only those who can afford it.

Pam – so, most of us were disappointed!  See you soon.

  2. Time to get a dish George! Watched the entire match about 20 miles away from you in NH on Direct TV.

  3. We watched the Fed-Murray final in Columbus, Ohio but it was nothing compared to the Wimbledon Federer-Nadal final. I purchased a DVD of that Wimbledon final match if anyone in Naples wants to borrow it.

Bob – yes, the Wimbledon final was a classic.  I might take you up on that offer!
