The WTA Championships on TV

The WTA Championships on TV : You may or may not know that the WTA season ending championships from Madrid, Spain are being broadcast on the cable network, Versus. To find your local station,

go to their web page and put in your zip code.

The strong field does NOT have any American women in it; but includes current world #1 Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters, the Come Back Kid Martina Hingus, Maria Sharapova, plus three other Russian women. While Justine just has to reach the final to take the world #1 title for the year, I am putting my bets on Maria to at least win the tournament.

What do you think?

By the way, VERSUS describes itself as: the center of competition and the only cable network celebrating competition in all its forms. The network provides an anytime destination for people to satisfy their primal need for competition with in-depth coverage of exclusive live events and original programming including the NHL, America’s Cup, Field Sports, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), The Tour de France, Mountain West Conference College Football and more.

  1. George, thanks for the heads-up. I had no idea the WTA Championship was on TV, and I never heard of this channel.

But I found the VERSUS channel on my comcast cable here in the Chicago area, and I just Tivo’d the series.

    Thanks again. Mark
